General Convent and Spiritual Retreat in Rome, Silent Walk for Faith through the City Streets in the Presence of the Patron Cardinal, His Eminence Mons. Francesco Cardinal Monterisi (June 21-23, 2024)


500 Templars Today participated in the annual General Convent and Spiritual Retreat in Rome. They undertook a silent walk for Faith through the city's streets, carrying Christ and numerous relics into the Capital's avenues. Nightly prayer vigils and Holy Masses were celebrated by the Patron Cardinal, His Eminence Mons. Francesco Cardinal Monterisi, at the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli, following a walk through the Imperial Fora, starting from the Colosseum, a site of martyrdom for the first Christians arriving in Rome.

During the Convent, the new international headquarters on Via di Porta Angelica was inaugurated.

Delegations of Templars from four continents and various nations participated, including Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Poland, England, Scotland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, the United States, Peru, Brazil, and China.
