In the silence and sacred atmosphere of the ancient Abbey of Santa Croce in Sassoferrato, in the Province of Ancona, the Templars experienced a profound time of spiritual retreat, devoted to prayer, reflection, and the renewal of their faith.
In this sacred place, where the spirit is invited to contemplation and attentive listening, Brothers and Sisters undertook a journey of inner renewal, seeking to rediscover the deeper meaning of their Christian vocation and their commitment to the Templar community.
The retreat provided a precious time of silence, prayer, and spiritual reflection, away from the demands of daily life. It was an opportunity to turn our hearts once again toward Christ and to remember that every authentic act of service is born from faith, humility, and a sincere desire to serve God and others.
Templar spirituality is not merely an outward expression of faith, but above all an inner journey. Through prayer, the Knight finds the strength to face life’s trials; in silence, he learns to listen to the voice of God; through brotherhood, he recognizes in his Brother a companion on the journey; and through service, he gives tangible witness to his faith.
During the retreat, the Templar community renewed its commitment to live according to the values of Faith, Loyalty, Courage, Charity, and Service, placing Christ at the center of its mission and entrusting every Brother, every Sister, and their families to the loving protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In this spiritual context, the sword, a symbol of the chivalric tradition, takes on its deepest and most authentic meaning. It is not a symbol of violence, but a sign of spiritual warfare—the struggle that every Christian is called to undertake against personal weakness, indifference, selfishness, and all that separates the human heart from God. The true victory of the Knight is therefore not achieved through weapons, but within the heart through faith, discipline, prayer, and perseverance.
The Abbey of Santa Croce offered the Templars a privileged place to pause, pray, and renew the strength needed to continue their spiritual journey. It is a journey that seeks neither personal honor nor recognition, but finds its deepest purpose in service to Christ, to His Church, and to our fellow human beings.
In the spirit of prayer and recollection that marked this retreat, the Templars entrusted to the Lord the future of the Order, their missions, the communities in which they serve, and all those who are in need of a word of hope, a prayer, or an act of Christian charity.
This is the true meaning of the Templar journey: to be men and women of faith, ready to serve without seeking recognition, faithful to their vocation, and always willing to follow Christ along the path of truth, charity, and brotherhood.
May the Holy Cross continue to guide our journey, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Mother of the Church, watch over us and accompany us every step of the way.
Non Nobis Domine, Non Nobis, Sed Nomini Tuo Da Gloriam!
